Beaches Lake Tahoe is blessed with many beautiful beaches. At most of them you can beach your boat, but you should scout carefully for rocks first. Putting out a stern anchor is always advisable when beaching, as it keeps the boat from drifting sideways and also makes it easier to leave, especially if a swell comes up. A safer approach is to anchor just off the beach and wade ashore. Never leave a beached boat unattended. The swell can increase rapidly, especially on the East Shore beaches in the afternoon, making conditions hazardous. Click on any small image to see an enlarged version.
