Sierra Boat Company, in Carnelian Bay, and North Tahoe Marina, in Tahoe Vista, both are full-service marinas with fuel and other services. Sierra hosts a world-class collection of classic wooden runabouts, while North Tahoe is the lake's high-performance boating center. Gar Wood's restaurant in Carnelian Bay is a good restaurant with the north shore's largest deck and best public pier. The pier can be used by visitors to other area businesses as well. Sunsets by the Lake is another fine restaurant, a short walk from North Tahoe Marina. King's Beach is the largest town on the North Shore and is quite boater-friendly, with a large beach and easy access to many stores. |
