![]() One of the Secret Harbor beaches This is the most undeveloped part of the lake and has the most beautiful beaches. It is unsurpassed as a lunch destination. Care must be taken, however, due to scattered rocks near the shore. When the westerly wind is blowing, as it often is during the summer, the surf can get quite rough in the afternoon, and the trip back to the west or north shore can be very bouncy. It is best to head home at the first sign of increasing swell. Sand Harbor is a very popular destination and hosts the Shakespeare concerts during August. It is easily visited by land as well as by boat, so it is generally very crowded. Secret Harbor is a fairly long hike from the road, making it far less crowded. It is spectacularly beautiful, with water colors rivaling the Carribean. One of the Secret Harbor beaches is popular with the clothing-optional crowd. Skunk Harbor is a small cove that doesn't have much of a beach but is beautiful. |
